Celebrating International Women’s Day 2020 with UCL

Black Women Let Loose Theatre Company will be at the RADA Studios in Bloomsbury, London to perform their show Shades Of Our Lives, on Monday 9 March 2020 – as part of a series of events provided by University College London’s EGA Institute for Women’s Health celebrating International Women’s Day.

Shades of Our Lives was first delivered to a sell-out audience at Bristol Old Vic in March 2019. This eclectic show offers thought-provoking insights into the performers’ life experiences. It includes
inventive short pieces exploring topics such as identity, connection and belonging; examining issues
familiar to all. Presented in a genre bending style, this well-paced production has provoked laughter,
sadness, inspiration and insight.

Shades Of Our Lives is devised, written and performed by the group. From the debut show, and onto further sell-out shows in Bristol, the production has elicited responses such as:

“… brilliant story-telling…also very funny and hugely entertaining…”
“Such a great mix of poignant, challenging, connection, uniqueness…”
“Fantastic energy, sadness and laughter – I want more…”
“Great movement, mood, depth… All the time thoughtful and inspiring…”
“…wonderful – uplifting – great positive vibe…”
“…heartfelt, powerful, humorous and informative performances…Moving, provocative, witty,
challenging, beautiful, zesty.”
“Stimulating, moving, amusing and such great connection between the performers.”
