We have, over lockdown, been fortunate to benefit from a series of masterclasses for African Diaspora theatre practitioners provided by Utopia Theatre.
Classes have ranged from delivering monologues, creating character, studying classical African plays, marrying movement with text, script-writing, and embodied awareness.
This has fed us hugely, especially given the depth of knowledge, and experience shared by some of the finest tutors and practitioners in the field. It has also provided us with an opportunity to work with other artists and to widen our reach to other parts of the UK. We look forward to continuing further training on Utopia masterclasses which are offered until the end of the year and will include additional themes on aspects of theatre making.
