We are delighted to be selected among the group of artists Bristol Old Vic commissioned for their Ferment Takeover. It will take place from Wednesday 9 -to Sunday 13 September 2020, on the theme of ‘The View From Here’.
We are in the process of devising a work-in-progress piece, which we will perform in the theatre’s foyer – adapted to suit socially distanced requirements for actors and audience.
We have been excited to start writing for performance again, with access to BOV and Red Rope Theatre’s Redspace for rehearsals; and being supported by the brilliant BOV Artist Development team. It’s a short space of time but our story is developing and a few aspects of it are hinted at in the above photo montage.
Our production takes in the unfurling events of 2020; from the Covid-19 pandemic and environmental crisis to racism and the Black Lives Matter movement. As the world ignores the global crises our ancestors decry our lack of 2020 vision. One woman’s daily existence is put under the spotlight exposing the pressures that engulf her life in these unrelenting times. From the pain she experiences to her final awakening. Her story encompasses the confrontations she cannot escape as a woman of colour.

We will update y’all on our progress but you’ll need to act fast for the limited tickets that will be available (due to Social Distancing restrictions)!
